1977 VW T2

When I was finally in the position to purchase a VW, I had to kiss a lot of frogs before I found a princess, typically here in Thailand, they do like their bondo!  However the good news was that there were a lot of frogs to look at, and I saw some spectacular VW’s out there, specifically some Type 1s and Type 1s that have been modified to the Samba variant.  In terms of pricing, when the Baht was 60 baht to the UK pound, prices were very comparable with the UK, however the strong Baht (now about 40 to the UK Pound) prices are more expensive than the UK.  I also understand that exporting one back to the UK is (by normal Thai standards) fairy easy so feel free to look around the various sites available, Facebook VW Thai groups are a good place to start, the Facebook / Google Translate isn’t the best but you can generally spot the prices to see if its worth looking into

Ideally I was looking for a walk through / camper variant but unable to find a camper type VW, but was lucky enough to find the walk through I ended up with, first job was to do an inspection of the engine just in case, it wasn’t great, but I suspected a lack of compression in one of the cylinders and hey look what they found!!!
